We have been the electrical maintenance contractor for all six Coleg Cambria sites since 2010 and have delivered several large projects along with numerous general and reactive maintenance works. The maintenance works have ranged from general call-outs to fix heating, lighting and replace sockets, to emergency call-outs such as a ‘making safe’ following fire and repairing any damage caused by a water leak.
In August 2017 we completed a refurbishment of the Main Reception and various classrooms which included removing and refitting dado trunking, the stripping out and installation of new LED Panels and the installation of new emergency lighting. We worked closely with the college to determine a schedule that would minimise disruption to student activity, fully utilising the six weeks available of the summer holidays. We completed all works within the allocated 12-week period.
In June 2019 we delivered an upgrade within the Engineering Department. This involved removing all existing supplies and equipment and installing new Welding Bays. We assigned a Site Supervisor, two electricians and an apprentice to complete these works. This was a four week project.
We are currently working on a new installation at the Innovation Centre at the Deeside Campus which involves installing new tray, conduit, sockets and isolators for Robot Systems inside the building and EV Charging points outside. We have assigned two electricians from our Mega EV department to install the electric vehicle chargers and currently have supervisor, electrician and apprentice working within the Innovation Centre. This project began in September and is due to be completed in March.
